How do you choose between full spectrum CBD, broad spectrum CBD or CBD isolate?

Choosing your CBD is not only about deciding which type to consume: e-liquid, CBD flowers, CBD oil, resins, etc., it’s also about sifting through the different properties in cannabinoids. To help you make an informed choice about the right CBD, we will explain the differences between full spectrum, broad spectrum and isolate.
Why are there different CBD properties?
CBD is only one of the active ingredients present in hemp. The plant contains more than one hundred cannabinoids, as well as terpenes, flavonoids, etc. Various methods can be used to extract the active ingredients from hemp. Each one allows for the extraction of quite a broad spectrum of compounds. Depending on the process used, you will obtain full spectrum, broad spectrum or isolate CBD.
What is full spectrum CBD?
Full spectrum CBD refers to the complete extraction of all soluble compounds from hemp. You will find CBD, other cannabinoids (CBN, CBG), terpenes, flavonoids, and traces of THC. Full spectrum CBD, however, is extracted from hemp varieties with a low THC content and therefore complies with current legislation. The first benefit of full spectrum CBD is that you can choose from a wide range of flavours and aromas to suit your tastes. But, above all, consuming full spectrum CBD means benefiting from the famous entourage effect, which can be summarised as the synergy between the various components of hemp to amplify the effects of the cannabinoids.
What about broad spectrum CBD?
The major difference between full spectrum CBD and broad spectrum CBD is that the latter contains no traces of THC, however small. The extraction processes used to obtain the two products are similar. There is just one additional step to remove the THC in order to get broad spectrum CBD or full spectrum CBD. You will therefore retain all the beneficial properties of cannabinoids by using this product, particularly the entourage effect.
The benefit of CBD isolate
The CBD isolate is an extract that is over 99% pure. The raw product comes in the form of crystals, often crushed into a powder. Unlike broad spectrum or full spectrum products, it cannot be used on its own. With isolate, you do not get the benefit of the other components in hemp. CBD isolate is most often used to adjust the amount of active ingredient or to create CBD products that do not have the flavour and smell of hemp. It is a product used both in the pharmaceutical industry and in CBD boosters by DIY enthusiasts who like to make their own recreational products.
Which CBD should you choose?
The choice between full spectrum, broad spectrum and isolate depends above all on your consumption habits and your desired outcome. If you use cannabis mainly for recreational purposes, you will probably prefer full spectrum CBD, or you may want to make your own products with isolate. If you want to complement a medical treatment and achieve daily well-being with hemp, then full spectrum CBD will be best for you. Recent studies have shown that either full spectrum CBD or broad spectrum CBD are more effective over the long term than isolate, whose effects are more short-lived
